Below is a list of the new Notes.ini parameters included in the Notes/Domino 6.5.4 release.
SPR# PCHE5R3SJC - During processing of richtext elements, if the DXL Exporter detects unexpected data in the composite data records that comprise the richtext, it will recover from the error by emitting the richtext data in an itemdata element instead, which contains the richtext item's raw data in Base64 format. This itemdata can be subsequently imported into a database without data loss. For this fix, the Notes.ini variable DXL_EXPORT_RECOVERY=1 must be used. If the export code is running on the client, the ini would need to be in the client Notes.ini, and if the export code is running on the server, it would need to be in the server Notes.ini.
SPR# JCOS63R2AQ - Profile documents with calendar settings were deleted from the mail database when attempting to archive. Fixed profile notes with compact -A and the Notes.ini variable COMPACT_FIX_ARCH_PROF=1. This regression was introduced in 6.5.1.
SPR# HTAA68YA56 - When not using an ActiveX attachment utility, a tiff file attachment is unable to be viewed. Setting "INOTES_WA_OPENELEMENTNOSTORE=0" in Notes.ini fixes the problem.
SPR# SVRO63SNKW - Increased the default max design cache from 1GB to 2GB, and increased the default max number of elements from 400 to 800. Also added the following Notes.ini variables to override these defaults:
DESIGNCACHE_MAX_SIZEKB - this specifies the maximum size in kilobytes that the in-memory design cache should be allowed to be before items start to be purged .
DESIGNCACHE_MAX_ELEMENT - this specifies the maximum number of elements that should be allowed in the in-memory design cache before items start to be purged.
The defaults in the code used to be 1000 KB and 400 elements. The code now uses defaults of 2000 KB and 800 elements.
SPR# MYAA5Z52ZN - Character attributes were not inherited from rich text fields when creating a document via the web. This fNotes.inies the notes.ini "KEEP_FORMATTING_IN_MIME_FIELD". This regression was introduced in 6.0.
SPR# BSPR5W9LFP - Fixed the display of an HTML mail message. Prior to this fix, the message was displayed too far to the right side of the screen.
*Note: The fixes for this and related sprs in Notes 6.0.5 and 6.5.4 can be disabled via the Notes.ini parameter "Use60HTMLCode=1". The group of fixes that collectively will be disabled via this Notes.ini parameter are:
SPR # MLAT65FT9F; SPR # MLAT65FTF8; SPR # MLAT65FTQG; SPR # KTOT5CRSZZ; SPR # MCMA5MCJ3X; SPR # OLR5F7TCZ; SPR # PANN5SDD7Z; SPR # SSTN5FFSGS; SPR # JBAA5MZTJJ; SPR # DMYG5KRPZD; SPR # BSPR5W9LFP
SPR# JFEN5AEGHT - Added the Notes.ini variable "DisablePrinterFonts=1" to prevent a Notes Client crash when the body field is in focus. This option turns off scanning for printer fonts (display fonts) from the font list. The display fonts are the fonts that you can see on a display. Most printer vendors these days provide "display" versions (e.g., Truetype fonts) for any special fonts that come "built-in" with their printers. However, there are printers (old and new) that do not come with display fonts for all their special font.
SPR# MKAE5WRHT3 - Fixed a problem where a doclink in the iNotes RTF editor was lost if you select "Forward" or "Reply with History". In order for this fix to work, the variable "iNotes_WA_EnableEditModeLink=1" must be added to your Server Notes.ini.
SPR# TOHA673FH2 - Setting the Notes.ini variable "OptimizeImagePasteSize=1" converts all bitmaps and metafiles to GIFs when pasted into a document.
SPR# MTMY5J2JX8 - Corrupt indexes Panic the server. This fix identifies corrupted data contained in any of the GTR KEY files. Without identifying the bad data, the updating process continues processing until the crash occurs. When bad data is identified, then processing stops and the index is automatically rebuilt. By default, this feature is off. To enable this feature, use the notes.ini "FTG_ENABLE_GTR_KEY_CHECK=1".
SPR# JFAA667F6U - Added the Notes.ini parameter, "DISALLOW_FOLDER_REFERENCES", to prevent databases on a server from having folder references enabled. This provides an administrative override for users intentionally or mistakenly enabling folder references, which are no longer required for IMAP since the 6.0 release.
SPR# PBAO5NCC3F - This fix addresses the conversion of /Seen flags of an R5 enabled mailfile to Domino 6 IMAP unread marks. Some mailfiles lost these flags on conversion, particularly those that were never accessed by Notes clients.
This fix will prevent the loss of these flags when there is no mailfile owner information available, and provides a new convert utility parameter to specify the username (mailfile owner) for whom the unread marks should be applied. The Notes.ini "DEBUG_IMAP_CONVERT=1", will log informational messages about unread table information during conversion from R5 imap to D6 imap. Also, the Notes.ini parameter "IMAP_CONVERT_ALLOW_LOST_SEEN_FLAGS=1" will revert behavior and allow conversion to succeed with loss of /Seen flags.
A new capability on the convert utility to specify the username whose unread table should be updated with seen flags. For example: convert -e mail\jdoe.nsf -z"CN=John Doe/O=ACME". This is case senstive, and double quotes are required. This can be used when there is no calendar profile note or mailfile owner item.
SPR# MLAT68DRS5 - Added the Notes.ini parameter "EnableLTREquations=1" to the Hebrew language version. This regression was introduced in 6.0.2.
SPR# RGET5K627Q - This fix reduces the likelihood of duplicate partition numbers used in IPC keys on Unix, and provides a
Notes.ini parameter, "PARTITION_KEYNUMBER", to handle any remnant collisions. This regression was introduced in 5.0.7 and has been fixed in 5.0.13, 6.0.5, and 6.5.4.
SPR# SMOS646H5V - The new Notes.ini variable "EIServerLogHours" allows control over how often LEI creates an LEI Server log document in leilog.nsf. When not set, LEI will create a new log document every 24 hours. Valid values are between 1 and 24.
SPR# FBEE5ZSSC3 - LotusScript String handling performance (Mid, left, right, len & Instr)
. With Surrogate Pair (4 Bytes) support in R6, we took a hit in performance. This fix allows a customer to bypass Surrogate pair support using a Notes.ini flag called DisableLSSurrogatePair. False by default, when set to anything but zero it will disable Surrogate Pair support, in so giving us the R5 LS Performance back.
SPR# JALS5YQVUU - Server mail rule was not capturing all attachments. For the fix to take affect, the Notes.ini variable "MIMEForceAttachments=1" must be used.
SPR# HKAI636AXA - Fixed a CR LF detection problem where the wrong character was inserted in the last line if the Notes.ini "MIME_KEEP_TEXT_PLAIN_FORMAT=1" was used. This regression was introduced in 6.5.2.
SPR# ASUH65FCGM - This fix provides a user with a means to re-enable the "both plain text and html" option, etc. for DWA language versions, disabling that by default. This can be done by setting iNotes_WA_DisableBothFormats=0 to notes.ini.
SPR# AHOD59HS4K - Added the "PRINTLIST_NEWAPI" Notes.ini parameter to control a new method of setting up the printer lists. This solves an issue when printing through Notes under Citrix where all printers, and not just the ones the current user has added, are shown in the list. The ini parameter is set to 1 to enable the fix, 0 or not set at all to disable it.
SPR# YTOA5GPE8T - Print-preview will match the actual printed output. For this fix, the Notes.ini variable "PrinterPixelPreview=1" must be used on the client. This regression was introduced in 6.0.
SPR# RCE5X7QY5 - Windows 2003 performance: Implemented a workaround to a Microsoft issue under Windows 2003. This issue would cause the server to take a long time to shutdown. The server would also experience slowdowns while the Domino server is running as tasks shutdown, i.e. Compact. In order to realize this fix, you must implement the Notes.ini parameter "Debug_Skip_UnmapViewOfFile=1" on the Domino Server. This parameter should only be implemented on Windows 2003 servers. We also recommend migrating to Windows 2003 SP1 when that is released. This problem has been fixed in 6.0.5, 6.5.4, 6.5.3 FP1 and 6.5.2. FP1.
SPR# SIWA5VUA8H - After rebuilding ($Users) view index in the NAB, some canonical name entries could not be found. This can cause mail routing and other serious problems. A workaround is to set DISABLE_VIEW_REBUILD_OPT=1 in the Notes.ini. This will rebuild the view correctly.
